Meet Dr. Michael Ciminiello

Fellowship-Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Michael Ciminiello, a native Long Islander, has returned home to rejoin his family and begin his professional career in Adult Reconstructive Hip and Knee Surgery. After graduation from Smithtown East High School, Dr. Ciminiello attended Princeton University where he was Captain of the baseball team and then played in the Detroit Tigers organization.

Once his professional baseball career was over, he earned his medical degree in Philadelphia at Jefferson Medical College. He completed his Residency and Fellowship at the renowned Rothman Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery where over 5,000 total joint replacements are performed annually. During fellowship, Dr. Ciminiello was trained by many of the world’s most respected orthopaedic surgeons mastering all areas of Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction including primary total hip and knee replacement as well as complex total hip and knee revision.
